Flower Council’s Winter 2007 Trend – Floral Empire
The Flower Council of Holland’s Winter 2007-2008 trend ‘Floral Empire’ is now in effect and continues on until Valentine’s Day. This theme incorporates historical elements and shape to give contemporary materials an imperial feel. Popular symbols in ‘Floral Empire’ are goblets, rosettes, insignias and busts as well as sculptures.

Florists can incorporate this theme into arrangements by using white blooms along with red, pink flowers or those found in shades of purple and green. Green foliage can be sprayed white for a regal look. In terms of shapes, ‘Floral Empire’ bouquets should take on a sculptured look. Pay close attention to detail as symmetry is paramount. Goblets and structures work perfectly as vases, with ribbon used as a final touch.
