yukari_mitsuiYukari Mitsui’s passion for Mother Nature and flowers first took hold when Yukari was a tour guide in the Canadian Rockies. It was this experience that led her to pursue a career as a floral designer.

Vibrantly Vertical

This complementary colour combination is hot and attractive. Using binding technique, calla lilies and cyan roses creates cool rhythm inside of the tinted lime green flute grass vase. Copper aluminum wire fashions a smooth line as it swirls along the outside of the base.  Purple feathers and water pearls are fantastic materials that work in tandem to create the “bling-bling” effect.  A diamond ring nestled in the heart-shaped rose arrangement makes for a perfect final touch.

Potted Passion

The cool concave and straight movement of the flax leaves gives a brand new angle to this design. Using a black square ceramic container gives visual weight and the contrast of bright to dark allows each colour to stand out.  A hint of chocolate brown Hypericum berries co-ordinates well with the orangey brown lines on the container.

Scarlet Fever
Traditional red roses reach a whole new level.  This monochromatic rose arrangement is truly a burst of red that is sure to give a dramatic impression. The design was created with the combination of masculine dogwood branches and delicate Aranthera orchids. A grouping of red-coloured pheasant features reinforces the focal area and adds texture.

Taste of Chocolate
Not only do Valentine’s Day chocolates make your mouth water, they also delight the eyes! Cute heart-shaped Anthuriums are perfect for this occasion and chocolate still remains a hot colour. The variety in textures in the pavé adds to the illusion of looking at a box of chocolates. Since pavé is a term borrowed from jewelry making, a perfect way to complete the look is to add a “necklace” of dogwood sticks, creating cool movement.
