As promised in the recent provincial election, Ontario
premier Dalton McGuinty has created a new statutory holiday for
Ontarians that will take effect Feb. 18, 2008. Family Day will now mark
the third Monday in February.
Family Day will become Ontario’s ninth stat holiday and this new addition now puts Ontario workers on par with Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia when it comes to days off.
