Where Have All The Flowers Gone?
Written by Rita Truba
Scientists are worried that many plant and flower species will not be able to adjust to climate change.  The Millenium Seed Bank Project, conceived, developed and managed by the Seed Conservation Department at the Royal Botanical Gardens, Kew, England, with more than 100 partners worldwide, is acting as a repository for all the world’s wild plant seeds. So far, about 18,000 species, from 126 countries, have been banked. On track to meet its goal of banking 10 per cent of the world’s flora by 2010, it is targeting another 45,000 by 2020.
