Comedian Advocates for Florists
Even comedians need cheering up sometimes and Stephen Colbert of Comedy Central’s The Colbert Report thought flowers might do the trick.

After breaking his wrist on the set of his July 26th program, the comedian appeared on a later show wearing a cast on his wrist. In order to lift this spirits, he made a request for presents and started to utter the popular phrase “in lieu of flowers…” but quickly stopped and instead told the audience he “would love some flowers.”

A few days later, his desk was filled with stuffed teddy bears and flowers from concerned fans. “In lieu of flowers, I asked that donations be made to florists, who then send me flowers,” explained a cheery Colbert, proving that flowers can help out even the happiest of people.
