Tony Manders, AIFD, CAFA
Tony is the owner of Regency Florists in London, Ont.,
since 1998. Born in Holland, Tony trained at Sierteelt Vak School in
Vught, where he earned a degree in Floriculture & Horticulture.
Tony arrived in Canada in 1986.
He was inducted into the American Institute of Floral Designers in 1990 and the Canadian Academy of Floral Arts in 1995. Since then, he has been the co-ordinator and instructor of floral design at Fanshawe College in London and has taught at the University of Guelph for Flowers Canada. Tony has extensive experience in international design shows and competitions.
Tony cites nature, colour, shape and form as the things that inspire him. The industry icons whose work he draws from include: Hitomi Gilliam, aifd, Canada, Jan Van Doesburg, Holland, and Gregor Lersch, Germany.

This bridal bouquet has an oriental flair. The chopsticks are black bamboo stakes wrapped with gold bouillon and equisetum. A rosette made from galax leaves has been placed as a focal point in the design. Dracaena marginata ‘Tricolor’ leaves add drama by crossing through the arrangement. The beautiful green cymbidium orchids are fashioned in place with bark-covered wire to add an interesting element to the design.

 This is a stunning bouquet with deep, rich, burgundy-coloured Black Baccara roses travelling through the centre. Jade green roses, green cymbidium orchids and hypericum berries accompany this presentation. This design is then highlighted with pieces of equisetum that have been wrapped with gold bouillon to add interest and a little sparkle. Spring-moss-coloured satin ribbon completes the handle.
