 Helen Blakey Memorial Award Presented to Glenn Hofland
The Helen Blakey Memorial Award was presented to Glenn
Hofland at the Flowers Canada Design show in Mississauga, Ont., on Oct.
17. Velta Berzins proudly presented the award to Hofland on behalf of
Flowers Canada Toronto Chapter. This prestigious award is given for
outstanding leadership within the Canadian floral industry and
dedication to community service.
To be eligible for this award, a candidate must be prominent and successful in the floral industry; keen on education, strong member/supporter of industry events, a stimulus the industry, and possessing of a legacy of professionalism. Community service outside of the industry, offering a humanitarian role in leadership, and enjoying life to the fullest are also evaluated when selecting the recipient.
Previous recipients of the Helen Blakey Memorial Award have included such industry leaders as Bob Ross, Don Patrick, Richard Wood, Arlene and Peter Heywood, Tom Colin, Patricia Patrick, Robert Newton, Norman Disch, and Bill Martin.
