March 31, 2008 - Last week, the Ontario Flower Growers Co-operative Ltd. (OFG) announced the introduction of its new, fresh-cut flower brand,
“Ontario Flowers”. The brand represents the highest standards of
freshness and quality available to Ontario consumers.
The
Ontario Flowers brand designation was developed to help consumers
identify the best possible flower products available and grown in
Ontario.
Consumers
can identify the Ontario Flowers brand by its colourful, green and
yellow logo depicting the image of a flower. The brand is supported by
the tagline, "Always In Season", communicating the year-round
availability of fresh-cut, Ontario Flowers brand flowers and the
appropriateness of their purchase for every day and every occasion. The
logo and tagline represent the essence of the brand and the quality and
freshness for which it stands. The brand will initially be launched
through Loblaws stores across the province.
To support the Ontario Flowers brand launch, an Ontario Flowers website at www.ontarioflowers.com
will provide consumers with information about Ontario Flowers’
standards of quality as well as the latest trends in floral arranging,
tips for entertaining and decorating the home, instruction for flower
care, special offers, contests and much more.
All
flowers that carry the Ontario Flowers brand are subject to quality
control standards that guarantee flowers are fresher and last longer.
Each Ontario Flowers product is quality checked to ensure:
- Fresh Product: maximum 48 hours from harvest to retailer
- Post Harvest Procedures: advanced cut flower treatment to prolong freshness
- Climate Controlled Storage/Shipment: ideal conditions for flowers throughout the shipping process
- Quality Control: any product that exceeds expiry date is removed from stock
- Consumer Guarantee: quality and freshness satisfaction guarantee
In
conjunction with the launch of the website, an “Always In Season"
contest also began last week. To enter the contest
consumers can buy cut flowers from retail stores across Ontario or
enter online. To find out more about the contest, eligibility or
contest rules, or about the Ontario Flowers brand, consumers can visit www.ontarioflowers.com.
