Offering Customers Lasting Memories

The sympathy market continues to change, as grieving customers search for the perfect tribute to express their feelings for their recently lost loved ones.  As a florist, it’s important to adapt your business to offer these customers everything they need during these emotional times.  Sympathy keepsakes and mementos that are incorporated into funeral arrangements, offer bereaved family and friends something tangible and permanent that they can take home, which will provide a comforting memory during the healing process.

Sympathy flowers have always brought a sense of peace to people paying their respects at funerals and visitations.  It’s important to listen to your customers to determine what they want to say about their loved one with flowers, and perhaps by suggesting that they could incorporate a keepsake in their arrangements, you’ll be able to offer them lasting comfort for years to come.

Whether you have a selection of keepsakes and mementos to offer your customers at your shop or they bring in their own trinkets to be incorporated into the floral arrangements, you’re helping them make their funeral arrangements memorable.

3. Wind chimes can easily make the transition from an easel in the funeral home to a tree in the family’s backyard.
6. Decorative stones with inspirational quotes can be placed in the garden to bring a sense of peace to family members.
7. Books can easily be incorporated into casket sprays and other arrangements, which can later be displayed on a mantle piece or bookshelf.
