Teleflora kicked off the Make
Someone Smile Week yesterday, a charitable event where thousands of
Teleflora member florists volunteer their time to deliver floral gifts
to those most in need of a smile.
The flowers are placed in the company's keepsake Be Happy® Mugs and given to patients in Veteren's hospitals, senior citizens living in nursing homes and assisted living homes and those enjoying meals through Meals-on-Wheels programs. This year's program will run from July 20 through July 26.
Teleflora will donate more than 40,000 of their keepsake Be Happy® Mugs to its member florists, who will work with local wholesalers and growers to secure donated daisies and roses. With these floral donations, local Teleflora florists will create hand-arranged cheerful Be Happy® Bouquets and hand-deliver them to patients in local hospitals, children in rehab centers and medical hospitals and residents living in assisted homes in their local communities.
The program was developed by Teleflora in 2000. Last year's program spanned 270 cities throughout the U.S. and Canada and involved 5,000 florists who donated their time. Teleflora's program delivered over 38,000 bouquets to those most in need of a smile.
