Coach potatoes and online consumers will soon be treated to the benefits of flowers as floral images are showcased on TVs and computer screens later this month.
On Tuesday, the SAF/FPO Alliance shot video for the broadcast and online component of the "Vitamin F" public relations campaign. The 30-second broadcast vignette will reach 2.2 million consumers when it airs in mid October on Direct TV - Lifestyle channels, including A&E, BET Jazz, Discovery Home & Leisure, DIY, Fine Living, Fit TV, Food TV, Hallmark, HGTV, Ovation TV, The Learning Channel, Travel Channel and TV Guide. In addition, millions will have the opportunity to see the campaign, via a 90-second video vignette posted on aboutflowers.com, flowerpossibilities.com, and multiple YouTube channels for viral online distribution. The campaign also will reach out to influential bloggers in the wellness and home decor community, and encourage them to spread the powerful message.
Launched in late August, Vitamin F is a consumer program that combines university research linking flowers to happiness and emotional health with advice from an expert.
Personal fulfillment expert and best-selling author of "Feng Shui Your Life" Jayme Barrett is featured in the broadcast and online vignettes, as well as the print press materials.
"When used in our homes, flowers ease the stress of everyday life and bring about truly inspired living," Barrett says in the vignette. "The home office is an ideal place to inject the motivational energy; or the power of now."
The Society of American Florists - Flower Promotion Organization (SAF/FPO) Alliance was formed in 2006 when SAF and FPO joined forces to promote fresh cut flowers to the consumer media. To date, the Alliance programs have generated more than 293 million consumer impressions including 26 national magazine placements and TV, radio, newspaper and online coverage in 228 local markets.
