A Blinging Bouquet

Fresh Floral Products

  • nine Star-of-Bethlehem (Ornithogalum)
  • one hydrangea (Hydrangea macrophylla)
  • three stems Italian Ruscus
  • one Thuja plicata (cedar)

Hard Goods
  • one metre green ribbon #9
  • four metres plum ribbon #9
  • 20 purple corsage pins
  • one three-inch styrofoam sphere
  • three nine-centimetre purple floral pins
  • two acrylic bead and sequin sprays
  • five metres silver thread
  • two acrylic teardrop ornaments
  • one-half box “diamante” clear pins
  • ten-inch square of half-inch foam core

Construction

  • Cut foam core into a triangular shape.
  • Cut a small hole in the middle of foam core.
  • Wrap triangle with plum ribbon.
  • Insert “diamante” pins along edge to secure ribbon.
  • Cover three-inch styrofoam sphere with green ribbon, silver thread and pins.
  • Insert a wooden skewer in bottom of ball.
  • Insert ball through hole in the foam board.
  • Glue Star-of-Bethlehem, Italian Ruscus, and hydrangea onto foam core.
  • Make three decorative rosettes with plum ribbon and pin into bouquet.
  • Wire in Thuja plicata (cedar) and trim to shape.
  • Use cut-off stems of Star-of-Bethlehem for the handle.
  • Wrap with plum ribbon and silver thread.
