The World Rose Festival was held from June 19-21 indoors at the newly expanded Vancouver Convention Centre in Vancouver, British Columbia.
This three-day event welcomed more than 15,000 visitors from throughout the province. The festival offered a remarkable variety of events such as world-class judged rose show, feature rose display gardens, professional fine art and floral exhibits, a marketplace with over 50 booths and a chlildren’s activity area. People were fascinated to meet the experts during the workshops, lectures and demonstrations at the festival, meanwhile enjoying themselves with live musician performances and with culinary treats at the Rose Bistro. Members of the CPFDA (Canadian Professional Floral Designers’ Association) including Donald Yim AIFD CPFD, Kevin Young AIFD CPFD CAFA, Margaret Peters CPFD, Cecilia Roa CPFD, Susanne Law AIFD CPFD, Tracy Bell CPFD, Lindsay Campbell CPFD, Yukari Mitsui AIFD CPFD, and Heather Logan CPFD each designed an unforgettable design arrangement and a hand-tied bouquet on stage for the audience. The design teams performed for enthusiastic crowds eager to know more about technique, floral varieties, and products. All floral arrangements and hand-tied bouquets were created with locally grown, beautiful and fragrant roses and other seasonal flowers and foliage. The festival was an extraordinary success!
