Spring shows bloom in western provinces

April 15, 2010 - Florists Supply spanned the west in early spring to host design shows in four provinces. Neville MacKay and Emily Mays, AIFD, did design demonstrations at the Edmonton event; Derrick Hollar, AIFD, CAFA and Roy Jackson, CAFD, FTD Master Designer put on a show in Saskatoon; Dan Kotecki, AIFD and Hollar were the feature designers in Winnipeg and Donald Yim, AIFD, CPDF and Hollar teamed up for the Vancouver design show.

The shows featured three distinct segments:
1) A Contemporary Approach to the Principles of Design – this portion had an educational approach discussing the design principles in each of the designs.
2) Modern Bride 2010 – this portion focused on the upcoming trends in wedding bouquets
3) A Glass Act – Out of this World Designs in Glass – Glass has become such a staple in floral design so the designers showed them some amazing pieces to get the creative juices flowing!
