Oct. 1, 2010 - A report by the Dutch Horticulture Product Board found that there are three main types of flower shoppers. The board surveyed 175 customers and developed the following categories: the flower arranger, the flower sniffer and the swift flowerist.
The arranger is someone who knows a bit about flowers, is confident when making purchases but always open to learning more about blooms. The sniffer is the most common type of customer – they enjoy flowers but are more traditional in their choices. They lack the expertise and go with what they know instead of selecting something unique or unusual. Last but not least, the swifter is always in a hurry and spend little time in the shop, choosing to grab and go instead.
