April 20, 2011 – Renowned Swedish floral designer Per Benjamin hosted a wedding design show at Hofland in Mississauga, Ont., on March 29.
Before the design show kicked off at 7 p.m., attendees were treated to dinner and drinks and were invited to walk and mingle through the wholesaler's showroom and sales floor to see the latest product offerings.
As soon as Per Benjamin hit the stage, audience members took their seats, eager to hear what advice and techniques the European designer was going to share. Each of his bridal designs had a structured base, often made using a combination of unique materials, which he then added flowers to on stage.
Benjamin emphasized the use of colour when doing wedding work as it provides a contrast to the typical bride's white dress. He proved that bouquets aren't limited to just round hand-helds - his designs included cascades, designs that the bride carried over her arm, trailing designs and a variety of shapes and sizes.
