Floranext launches florist website and POS
Written by Amanda Ryder
Oct. 7, 2011, San Francisco, Calif. - Floranext has launched its florist website and point of sale platform that allows florists to create a point of sale and unique website in minutes, not weeks at affordable prices.

Floranext is built by florists, for florists. William O’Shea and his father Bill O’Shea created the technology for their own shop, O’Shea’s Flowers and Gifts, one of the largest retail shops in the Northeastern U.S., and an FTD Top 250 florist for many years. “We developed Floranext out of a frustration with wire service fees and technologies,” says co-founder William O’Shea.

“Floranext’s approach is different,” explains William. “Our solution is flexible. You can try it before you buy, and there is no setup fee, no contract, and no per-order fee ever.” Florist websites start at $29.99/month. A website and point-of-sale combination is priced at $89.99/month.

The company brings together tech expertise with real understanding of the flower industry. William O’Shea worked at Skype, an Internet phone company sold to eBay for $2.6 billion, and British Telecom, where he oversaw the building of their Internet TV product. Chief Technology Officer Dr. Thomas Boltze has managed large, scalable technology projects for Intel and Philips. Bill O’Shea founded and ran one of the most successful flower shops in the country for over forty years.

Unique Florist Website Designs

Florists can design their own websites — they are able to choose layouts, designs, and background. Owner of Lake Gaston Floral Studio Terri Patton explains: “I designed my website in minutes. Floranext has made it easy and affordable to create a beautiful website, and it’s already generating more sales for me.”

Florist Point-of-Sale - No Hardware Needed

Floranext’s Point of Sale is a no-hardware solution that allows you to take phone and walk-in orders, manage house accounts, and generate reports. The solution is ideal for shops that don’t need don’t want an expensive wire service solution. Because no hardware is required, a Floranext florist POS can be set up in minutes.
