Aug. 13, 2012, Miami, FL — The American Institute of Floral Designers (AIFD) inducted 21 floral design artists from around the world during its recent National Symposium in Miami, Fla.
More than 75 aspiring floral designers initiated the AIFD membership process, but only 21 successfully completed the rigorous demonstration of design artistry.
“AIFD continues to maintain its high standard,” said Kristen Philips, AIFD’s associate executive director. “Achieving accreditation is a difficult task and those who are successful should be proud of their accomplishment.”
This year’s newest AIFD accredited members came from the United States, South Korea, and Hong Kong. Canada was also represented at this year’s induction ceremony: Misha White, of Calgary successfully completed the requirements to earn her accreditation.
As accredited members of AIFD, the honourees will now be able to use “AIFD” and “CFD” addenda as part of their professional name.
